Re: Brake pads for heavy turds

I realize I am late to this conversation, but I ran Nitto NT01 on my 3,750 lbs Cadillac for several years and they did great. I tried several 200 treadwear tires and got more chunking than I would have liked, but never had that problem with the Nittos. They wear well. I echo the opinion of bringing ...

Registration for 2021 membership?

Greetings from northern quarantine. I know it's unlikely we'll be allowed across the border again this year, but my father and I would still like to renew our COM memberships.

I logged into Motorsport Reg and I saw all of the events listed, but I didn't see the membership renewal. How can we renew?

Re: Thompson July 2020

Border is unfortunately still closed so we won't be there - but we hope everyone has a great time and a good kickoff to the season :)

Re: 2020 TT Season

I think lead follow could work for students, broken down into groups of three, with controlled passing after 3 laps to cycle the 'lead' student through the entire group. Any larger group than that and I am afraid it would fall apart for beginners. We would need loud walkies in each car, one-way comm...

Re: Do it all brake pads (Miata content)

I run HP+ on my Datsun, which weighs the same as your Miata. Street and track, no fade issues on the track.

I've also run them on much heavier, and more powerful cars, and my NA Miata. I recommend them.

Re: Suspension advice

If the eLSD setup uses the brake controller to limit wheelspin, it's going to eat up your brake pads faster than a mechanical or viscous LSD, which don't employ the brakes at all. But if you have an electronically-controlled viscous clutch unit, this isn't your issue. Your pads were eaten up most li...

Re: Next year's schedule

I am also an arrive and drive member. As a counterpoint to the above statement, I regularly drive my 1970s era track car with no air conditioning to almost every track on the COM schedule, with the exception of Thompson as I noted above. Every American track on the schedule is 4 to 5 hour drive for ...

Re: Next year's schedule

I would also like to say that I do more events with COM than any of my Canadian clubs, because COM is head and shoulders one of the best organizations I've been on track with.

Re: Next year's schedule

As a Canadian who's been a member of COM for about a decade now (and who convinced my father to join too), I would love more events at NHMS because it's the closest US track for the two of us. Club Motorsport is also very close, although I understand the safety issues. I get to run Tremblant any tim...

It's in the registration - I missed it, and Mark hooked me up. Thanks!
