Speaking of T12, here is how NOT to do it:

1.6 Miata vs 1.8
Thought this was interesting.
Top traces are lateral g forces.
Bottom traces are speed.
Red trace = My car in 2007, laptime 2:00.222. (I think this was the last trip to Tremblant in my 1.6).
Black trace = my current 1.8 car, laptime 1:54.200.
Bottom line, a lot more cash into the car = 10 extra mph at the end of the straights and about 6 seconds.
Notice how the speed traces almost perfectly match each other at the far right of the graph? That is from the paddock bend to the finish line. I botched the shift and put it into 5th, not 3rd, on my flyer. Cost me about 0.2s, by my estimate. FIrst time I've done that!

Wow, it's not all motor. You're not braking as deep and as a result have much better average mid corner speeds now. Especially in 8 and 10. Nice work!

Re: Mont-Tremblant Pics/Video
Hi guys! I'm new here! I'm from the Track and Time club.
It was my first track day at Tremblant and I really enjoyed every minutes spent with you guys!
I'm really curious
I want to know about how much hp and how much weight your car have and what was you best lap?
My best run was a 2.03.622 with my Toyota Paseo. It got 77.3 whp, 80.3 lbs-ft of torque and total weight is around 2100 lbs.
My car is all about momentum... if you let it go in one curve, the rest of your lap is done because I got no power at all. I guess it may be worse than a stock miata.
Here's a couple of shot that I got from the photographer. How i'm taking the 12
I will try to post some inboard video in a couple weeks. I need to do a little of editing

Thanks. Yes, the driving got better. Not only less braking, but better release of the pedal too - something that Ross Bently spoke about as a 'secret' at a seminar years ago. The 225 A6 vs 205 R6 likely helped a bit in the corners too, though honestly not nearly as much as I would have thought.Mick wrote:Wow, it's not all motor. Has anyone noticed all of the plings and bangs heard in these videos, especially Jeff's? I was quite disappointed when they refused to clean the track for us. WIskey Tango Foxtrot. There was rubber slag everywhere.
*EDIT* - You gents with the Aim Solo & video. Is there no way to get RPM's or throttle position on the video? Way more important, telling, and educational than speed, IMHO.

I don't think you can with the OBD1 cars and standard Aim Solo. Aim has an Solo OBD2 model now, that extracts any info available through the connection as far as I know.WillM wrote: *EDIT* - You gents with the Aim Solo & video. That's a great time for your power to weight!paseobeater wrote:I'm really curious

My car (with driver) is 2705 lbs and makes 180 WHP. My best time was 1:54.8 on RA-1's. I made the mistake of switching to 2 year old V710's for the TT and ended up being 1 second slower.

Re: Mont-Tremblant Pics/Video
If you have the Solo DL connected via OBD-II yes, but for the base model or OBD-I cars no. If you are logging the throttle and RPM data via another system then you can combine it all using RaceRender - not sure how well it would all sync up, but it can be done.WillM wrote: *EDIT* - You gents with the Aim Solo & video. What are you all using to render data with the video? Any tips?

I rate it satisfactory, and like the fact that I can create my own gauges.

+1 for RaceRender. You can create your own gages with it too. Aim Solo DL is the bomb!Mick wrote:I use RaceRender
