Did you say 1:15.5 ? Holy S..t ! That would have bettered Reed's record and is 4 seconds better than what you did last year with COM. You need to try to duplicate that motor again.

Yeah I know. Had I not seen the video that my wife took of the lap, I never would have believed it myself!! I was shocked to see that kind of time on the lap timer....like I said I wouldn't have believed it if my wife hadn't gotten it on video. I was looking last night to see what it will cost to rebuild that sucker, and it looks like it is going to be quite lot. With the baby on the way in a couple of weeks, unfortunately it won't be my highest priority. I was really looking forward to going to Mt. Temblant this year. O well... we'll see what happens once I rip it apart and see how much damage there really is. But my gut feeling is that it is in sad shape. Before I realized what was wrong with it, I bought a new battery and tried to start it. There was so much drag in the engine, that the new battery could barely turn the engine over! WAAAAAAA!! :(

Joel,

Might want to make a post over here and if anyone local has something if you want to get up and running quick with less headaches.

I used to have a 98 LS1 T/A and still keep in touch with some of these guys. There is always LT1 stuff floating around. I'd just buy a stock motor and throw it in there and go beat the crap out of it again. 8) Building motors is nothing but a headache that more times than not doesn't work out the first... or second.... time.

I will check out that site to see what I can find. I know what you mean, I went through this last winter, and I am not looking forward to doing the work again. It is tedious and painful, and requires lots of time that I don't have right now!!! Thanks again, I will see what I find out there.

Joel
It doesn't even turn over very well. In fact, it is making a horrendous squeaking sound
Did you make sure that your altenator or an other accessary did not seize? If you try to crank your engine with one of these siezed, it will make a horrendous squeak.

I am going to check some of that easy stuff when I get home tonight. I was just too frustrated last night to go much further. I would assume that if it was something like that, that the engine would stay running, and it would tear the accesory belt apart. But who knows, I will check it out tonight.

It has been confirmed....

I pulled it apart tonight after work. My problem is definately bad! The oil looked like a metalic swirl paint job, and had much metal in it. I attempted to pull the pan down, but ran out of light. I should have it down tomorrow. I need to lift the engine out a bit to get the pan out. So far it doesn't look too good.

Doesn't sound good Joel :(

Is this a rebuild or factory motor?

It was a stock bottom end with a built up top end. Apparently the stock bottom end could not keep up with the top end! Well I guess I will have to build it back bigger and badder now! Unfortunately it won't happen over night. I think I will upgrade it to a 383 stroker now. We'll see what my wife says about that!

WAAAAAAA!!

After the baby, it's time to get her behind the wheel...that's how I justified the $150 brake pads instead of the brand name diapers

If you are going to upgrade, might as well stuff in an LS7 :)

Mike you can expect 145+ mph at Mosport in your car in it's "de-tuned" state...extra underwear is not optional
Yeah I'm gonna start seriously looking into a Bar and some harnesses.
Tentative plans for the car to have a Rollbar installed starting May 9th which is a day after we get back from Summit Point with SVTOA. I'm having the same guy that put the Rollbar in Brian Stonkus's Roush do a Duplicate Rear Rollbar for mine.

Ordering Drivers Suit, harnesses, and SPA Magnets this week. 8) Should be good to go for Mosport in June.
