Re: Rules changes to be discussed at BOD this week
When should we expect the results of this months meeting to be available? I can only imagine everyone is very busy with holiday stuff, our association didn't hold a December meeting and communicated via email.

Re: Rules changes to be discussed at BOD this week
The highlight of the night was that point scoring rule passed. It basically says: Any competitor that completes more than 6 time trials, will have the lowest point event dropped. Any competitor that completes 6 or less, will be scored on thier total.
Others include: 99-05 miatas stay in SSB. In ST; wheel spacers of up to 1/4 inch are legal, aftermarket pressure plate and disc can be used (with limitations) but flywheel must remain stock, and mechanically adjusted fuel regulator NOT legal. Aftermarket seat definition and dot tire wordings (in SS, ST and SP) have be deffered until next meeting.

Does this imply we have a 7 event season or does it apply to 8 event seasons too? If so, in an 8-event season could you carry points from 7 events if you attended all 8?jlwhorf wrote:The highlight of the night was that point scoring rule passed. "If more than 6 points-scoring events occur in the series, the lowest scoring event for each competitor will be dropped from the points totals for that competitor A missed event yields zero points, and therefore becomes the dropped event."

Yes!naschmitz wrote: Does this imply we have a 7 event season or does it apply to 8 event seasons too? If so, in an 8-event season could you carry points from 7 events if you attended all 8?
If you attend 1 event, your championship points are based on all the events you attended.
If you attend 2 events, your championship points are based on all the events you attended.
If you attend 3 events, your championship points are based on all the events you attended.
If you attend 4 events, your championship points are based on all the events you attended.
If you attend 5 events, your championship points are based on all the events you attended.
If you attend 6 events, your championship points are based on all the events you attended.
If you attend 7 events, your championship points are based on the top 6 events you attended.
If you attend 8 events, your championship points are based on the top 7 events you attended.
If you attend 9 events, your championship points are based on the top 8 events you attended.

Yes, but what if you do 10 events?

Hey Guys, I liked Will's answer. Otherwise I was going to ask Nate if I could restate his answer to my question as "Yes."

Burt, the wording of the rule can be a bit confusing, no doubt.naschmitz wrote:Hey Guys, I liked Will's answer. Otherwise I was going to ask Nate if I could restate his answer to my question as "Yes."
The BoD spent a lot of time discussing the merits of this rule change, and then spent even longer trying to word it properly. Seems we've still fallen a bit short on at least the wording part.
If anyone has a cleaner and more simple way to state the rule, post it! I believe the BoD still has time to vote in a change to the rule's wording so that it would make it in time for the 2011 rulebook.
Anything we can do to make our rule book easier to understand is a win for everyone!

If you run more than six events, you cannot include the event with your lowest score in your total for the season.

Re: Rules changes to be discussed at BOD this week
The rule change (as originally submitted it, and as rewritten) is intended to count attendance points for all events -- only the finishing position points could be dropped from an event. While we want to make the TT series more accessible to those who miss an event, we want to continue to reward those who attend all events. In recent years the BoD has doubled attendance points at some venues (all tracks except NHMS) so attendance points will continue to be a factor in scoring along with the "avg # of cars in class" points. What are the limitations on the pressure plate and disc?

8. Any clutch disc and clutch cover (pressure plate) may be used, providing they are of stock diameter, have the same number of plates and mount on an unmodified flywheelDtangard wrote:jlwhorf wrote:The highlight of the night was that point scoring rule passed.
