Rules changes to be discussed at BOD this week

Post by nateh » Sun Dec 12, 2010 10:36 pm

There are a number of rules proposals on the agenda for what promises to be a long Board meeting this Wednesday, Dec. 15.

Here is the list:

When you say pass state inspection, do you really mean it? What happens if SPB car has no airbags and no tire that would pass state inspection.

DOes that mean its a PB car now?

I assume you are asking about one of the 2 SP proposals that refer to state inspection. Perhaps the authors of these will note your question and respond. But it might be academic, since those proposals were not accepted by the board.

Nate

I'm only seeing 3 "open" proposals attached on that linked document, nothign talking about "SP /state inspection"

Is there another version I'm not seeing? Thanks

Did you look at all 6 tabs?

There are 26 open proposals. Yikes!

When I raised the question about non-DOT tires in SP, the resounding feedback was "Street Prepared is for street legal cars and must run on street legal tires." You are saying your car is not street legal and it is in SPB? My argument exactly -- the rules allow non-street legal cars in SP so why keep the DOT tire requirement?

Nate,

I think under tab ST cell 6E it should read the same as cell 5E except for allowing lightweight flywheels. I remember writing the rule for allowing any flywheels and then starting the lightweight flywheel debate several weeks ago. I wish I could attend the board meeting but its final exam week. Good luck!

Derek, if your proposal doesn't go through, you can use an alternative method.

I call it the Darcy paradigm. Join the BOD, and just keep submitting the same rule over and over until the rest of the BOD, so thorougly annoyed with you, will agree just to shut you up.

I kid I kid!!!!

Troy,
I'll keep this in mind! Also, I hope your 1.8 swap is going well.

Thank you!

LOL Troy :!: :!: I only submitted the panhard bar in ST rule two years in a row. The BOD saw the light. As for your engine swap--- that rule might be reversed this rule season     Just kidding, but I was the author of the final Miata engine swap rule, so thank me for that :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

If Troy swaps to a 1.8, I need to up the PTW of the 1.6 - perhaps 10:1 pistons and a head job should become legal for 1.6 engines?

Or I could take Dan's advice and use that LS3
