It doesn't need to be pretty, just some extra side gussets is all I need. Steel ranging from 16ga to 12ga will be fine. Just trim to fit, slap 'em on there, and weld. I have a few cans of spray paint to touch up all the raw surfaces.

Do either of you have a lift? It's hard to do this on jack stands, and I'd rather avoid it... :)

I can't help with any welding suggestions, but it reminds me of the last time I welded anything. I was welding too close to the fuel lines (which are plastic lines by the way). Well it ignited, and then I had a dripping fireball in my garage. It made for an interesting night. Luckily the only casualty was the fuel line itself. So count me out in offering any words of wisdom. I retired my welding helmet a couple of years ago.

I have a lift...and plenty of fire extiguishers. Once we start with the bracing. we'll just put in a whole cage, wheel tubs, etc.

Hey Greg. I haven't forgotten about you.. As with all things automotive, a bunch of higher priority things have bumped the welding back a few notches..

I'll contact you after NHIS when things die down a bit. Thanks for your patience..

Don't worry Troy. We can have a campfire at any time during the season.
