Re: NHMS Update

I took those turn 2 shots through the same exit gate that we use after finishing our last time trial lap. There were some nice gaps in the gate to stick the camera through. It looks like my photos mainly from run group 3 on Saturday and then practice groups 1 and 4 from Sunday. I am afraid I don't h...

True - I was more thinking it would be nice to measure yourself against your best lap so you can see when you are improving.

Re: timers

If you'll be at Watkins Glen, come find me and I'll be happy to show it off for you. I'm pleased as punch with mine. I use it routinely to get continuous running lap times, which tells me instantly if I gain or lose time at a corner. I would love to take a look a your MaxQData setup, but unfortunat...

Re: timers

I have a Performancebox. Plug it in and wait for it to aquire a satellite fix.Usually takes a minute. You have to set your start/finish line by first accessing the lapping mode. You them must set the start/finish line you will cross within 20'(adjustable borders). The car must be moving across the s...

Re: timers

I am bumping this thread up from the distance past! Has anyone here used the PerformanceBox ($500), DriftBox ($750) or Traqmate ($700-$1000) GPS timers? Having split-times as you drive seems like a powerful tool, and it would be really cool to download GPS your traces at the end of the day and ident...

Re: Ride-along program for curious event observers?

Hmm, I wonder if a new registration could be introduced for a ride-along program. Would the insurance then consider the participant registered?

Ride-along program for curious event observers?

Hi, I have a friend who will be observing the upcoming NHMS event from the paddock. At events with other clubs, I have seen people participating in "HPDE sampler programs" that let interested individuals sit-in on classroom sessions and then see the track from the passenger's seat of an in...

Re: Has Anyone ever tried Ferodo Brakes

I used those pads last season on my stock Evo IX (stock Advan tires too). They held up fine (no pad fade) until they were worn about half-way through (2 or 3 track days) and then I experienced serious pad transfer! If you do get the DS2500s I would suggest watching the pad wear and replacing the pad...

Re: Misc. thoughts on no events in Canada anymore :(

For all the COM events, the biggest factor for me that I don't have the vacation days burn so that I can participate in a weekday event. Based on the same vacation days are precious principle, I also stay away from events where I will need vacation time to travel to and from the track. Calabogie is ...
