Ride-along program for curious event observers?

Hi,

I have a friend who will be observing the upcoming NHMS event from the paddock. At events with other clubs, I have seen people participating in "HPDE sampler programs" that let interested individuals sit-in on classroom sessions and then see the track from the passenger's seat of an instructor's car (http://www.boston-bmwcca.org/EventDescr ... _Guide.pdf).

Can COM instructors give a short on-track rides to event observers?

I know my friend would enjoy the experience and I'm hoping it will help me convince her to actively drive in our future events!

I don't believe that our insurance covers anyone who is not registered for the event in question.

Hmm, I wonder if a new registration could be introduced for a ride-along program. Would the insurance then consider the participant registered?

Now that sounds reasonable! How about this non profit club of ours!

I don't see why the club shouldn't make a few bucks off such a deal. Some nominal fee, $25, $40 maybe? As far as I'm concerned, COM qualifies as a "good cause"!
