NHMS Update

Post by chaos4NH » Wed Jan 28, 2009 11:30 am

I stopped by the track yesterday (just in time for Bette to tell me she was heading to Tampa, FL and warmer weather - vacation, she will be back). Bette told me that the new management will plow the track to get it ready for out April 4-5 event. In the past, plowing was a no-no.

Nice! Now all you have to do is convince them to Salt & Sand :)

Nah, they should just let us run with snow tires... in which case, I might have a chance against those SPC maita's

Does WG plow?

Last year the event before us was canceled due to snow. When we got there, it looked like the track had been plowed, but the height of the snowbanks at track-side and the melting snow probably forced the cancel.

So pray for a quick Spring in the Finger Lakes

Does that mean you will settle for 3rd behind the E30 and the S2k?

If this happens it would be between him and Catucci, right?
What's a Miata anyway? :?

Yes, realistically I would need to settle for 4th.

It's hard to describe a Miata, so I used some references on the Uncyclopedia web site to help us.

http://uncyclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/Autocross

"Potentially the most popular class in Autocross is the "I" class, which is so named because anything goes as long as "I" get to win. An alternative approach (actually chosen by the SCCA) is the "6-year-old beauty contest" classing structure, in which everyone gets a trophy for something. Miata owners are common recipients of "Miss Congeniality" trophies."

Mickey, the key to besting Ryan is to buy up all the Civic half shafts in existence, because you know he is going to twist one off at each event.

Ouch!

More Miata bashing:

"C Stock: If your car has ever been referred to as a "Girl's Car", this is where you belong."

hint: C Stock is loaded with, you guessed it, Miata's.

This is great news.

The question is, if the track needs to be plowed, how much do we have to tip the plow driver to plow the south oval, and NOT the south chicane?

That reminds me...

Given that the no-more-south-oval rule was made before the track was sold, and that at least one other club reportedly used the south oval last year, have there been any discussions with track management about the possibility of COM running the south oval again?

SCDA got to use the south oval for the afternoon sessions at their July event. BTW this event was for solo drivers only.
