Here is the latest version of the SS Reclassifications for 2007. The re-vamp will be voted on at the Board Meeting on Nov. 15.

So the WRX is going back to SSA/ST2? :) The 06 WRX has a 2.5L turbo instead of a 2.0 turbo. It allegedly doesn't make a lot more power, but I think that's BS. Would it go in SSA or SSGT?

FYI, if the Porsche Boxster non-S is in SSA, the Cayman non-S should be in that class, too. (Boxster gets a 5 hp increase in power in 2007; Cayman has the same engine.)

Hhhmmmm, 165hp Sentra 2002 against a 197hp Civic SI? Or a Saab Viggen Turbo? A Mustang SVO? And, I would hope you note there is a huge difference between the SER and SER SpecV. i.e.: Limited slip, sport suspension, 6 speed box, helical gear front differential, 17X7 wheels vs. 16x6, Brembo brake package), and that makes the published 10 HP increase seem like 25 HP or more. Just asking for another look see, the Non Spec V is not even close to todays SSA cars which become SSB if these changes take place. Unfortunately, I do not have indepth road/track test comparisons to throw your way, but, since I give up 2-3 secs to the present SSB cars (soon to be SSC), I can't imagine running with todays SSA guys!

I think the 06 WRX would stay in SSA. For what it's worth, I read a recent head-to-head review of the 06 WRX and Mazdaspeed3. Seems like a good match-up!

2002 Civic SI is only 160 hp - definitely SSB. SVO is in SSA above - but its specs are weak; I think it should move down to SSB. The Viggen isn't in the above list, but its specs are similar to the 9000 Aero - I'll add it to SSA. SER 2002+ Spec V are not identical, but they are both in the mid-range of SSB.

OK. But we have a 197 hp 2006 Civic SI running in SSA under present rules. Where will that go in new rules? Like I said I can't imagine running against that. I mean the Lexus IS 6 cyl is bad enough, or for that matter, the Supercharged Minis.
Don't mean to argue any of it, just can't see where it shakes out.
I guess I have to run the Speed 3, paid for or not.

Alga Romeo GT is SSC Class??? A demotion of sorts??? fine by me. PLs confirm. Those new cars are getting ay too competitive for my 60's technology.

Another question Nate:
Last year I proposed - for the sake of safety - that all SSB class (that would be the same for SSC and even SSA) have urethane bushings (you know how NHIS eats bushings!!!) w/o changing classes.

I remember the discussions at last year's meeting and it appears that the issues raised have been addressed. I'm sure there will be new issues that arise as we run against this new classification, but I see no obvious shortcomings. Will be interesting to see how the 2006+ MX-5 does as we get more of them into the club.

Quick question: I am looking at a 1996 Nissan 200SX SE-R (2.0 liter, 140 HP, same as Sentra SE-R). Would that also run in SSC? Hope to find out before eBay bidding ends around 700PM tonight.

Even with the increased horsepower, its specs still put it well within SSB for 2007.
