Car went from an inline 6 to a turbo 4. Engine swaps are not permitted in ST, so you move up to SP.
SPB is home for forced-induction 4-cyl engines.
Look through your mods and compare them to the rulebook. If all of the modifications you have are allowed in SP, than SPB.
If you have something not allowed in SP, then you move to P, and in which case the car would be classed PB.
From the description above, your fenders may conflict with 3, 6, or 9, or they may not!
On the other hand, #1 states:
1. Engine blocks may be obtained from any manufacturer.
Number of cylinders used must have been offered in that particular car.

Concerning #1, at one point the COMSCC rulebook had specific wording referencing that car configurations were based on US or North American models. I cannot find that wording now, perhaps it has been removed?
If so, and if the SR20DET was available in the JDM 240sx, than I assume the engine would be allowed in SPB. If not, PB.
I guess if you wanted to split hairs, one could ask what the car was called in Japan. With that particular engine, I doubt it was called a 280-anything!
Ahhhh...rules. It is THAT time of year again.

The fenders are nissan 240sx fenders just were not available from nissan in the states. Other than rolled lips they are stock OE 240sx fenders.
The car originally had a 4cyl but it was available with a 4cyl turbo (sr20det) but just not in the US. Does that matter? aren't we a world market now.
Damn if this is prepared that will suck. This is my daily driver, I have a baby seat in the back. If I put a cage in I won't have a spot for the baby and a second one is on the way.
In japan it was the same exact chassis code s13 and s14.
I am hoping to figure this out soon because I want to reg. for the NH event.

If I fall in SPB that would be awesome. I will sign up for the NH event right now.cuda6666 wrote:Welcome to SPB
Are these below suspension items legal in SPB?
- rear upper camber arm
- rear upper traction arm
- adjustable rear toe arm
I don't see suspension stuff listed in the SP rule section.
I see in ST suspension bushings are free.
Thanks guys for all the help.
In SP- any mods are allowed unless explicitly prohibited by the rules.
From the RuleBook:
"Street Prepared automobiles must comply with section VI, then any modifications are permitted while observing the following restrictions:"
Check section VI. You should be fine there, it's mainly general car/driver safety requirements
Then check the list of 14 *restrictions under SP-. As long as you don't violate those restrictions you should be fine.
