Don, would you recommend that route even if your towing a trailer? I remember a few years back Jack Rosen recommended us to take a different route when we left and it took us 2 hours longer.

Stephan - I would strongly recommend that you avoid any route that takes you close to Montreal this weekend - the Canadian Grand Prix is in Montreal this weekend.

I agree with Don - we use these directions - RT 90 to 12 to 81

OK I mapped these distances and est travel time vs. going from Nashua up 89 via Montreal to 401 to Bowmanville:

Nashua - Bowmanville (via USA to Watertown) = 566 miles, 9 hours 15 minutes

Nashua - Montreal - Bowmanville = 569 miles, just shy of 10 hours (that's what the guide says, but I know I can do it in less from here to Montreal).

I conclude it's about a wash. :dontknow:
International bridge at 1,000 islands - been there, done that (not bungied tought  ) I used to vacation in 1,000 island when I lived in Montreal.
Maybe I go via Montreal and come back via 1,000 Islands. Drivng thru Montreal on Sunday you will hear the roar of F-1 engines at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve (GP-Canada) :D

Gas factor: Gas in the Canadian side may me a little more, but then again all gas stations off any highway is grand robbery...

Google Maps finds it using:

3233 Concession Road 10
Clarington, ON, Canada

The navigation system in the Audi confirms.

For all those heading Sunday to Mosport and carrying a walkie-talkie:
Lock in on CHANNEL 1 and SUB-CHANNEL 1 = 1.1

Safe trip everyone!

Is there a caravan heading out from the Boston area along the Pike?

I was convinced by several cavaners that taking the Pike + 90 to Watertwon and crossing the CDN border there is better. So I am sure several drivers will be taking that route at different times. So we can tune the walkie-talkies to the same channel we'll might as well get each others status (within whatever range the w-t wil allow you).
FYI I plan to leave Nashua at about 8 AM (or thereabouts) via 495 to ??? (the one via Worcester/Marlborough) to the Pike.

I'll be driving a black Jeep Cherokee hauling the Alfa with an open aluminium trailer (borrowed ...).

Aric, I am leaving Merrimack NH around 730AM on Sunday. Traveling via the mass Pike to I90 (NY) I am hauling so speed will be slow in some areas, but a steady 70 or so when terrain permits.
Stefan, if you want to step up your departure 30 minutes, we can hook up, at least until it rains! :D

Hmmmm, I am thinking of canceling my hotel reservations based on the weather outlook. Camping sounds +$300 more appealing to me! Will we be able to stay at the track Tuesday night and depart early on Wednesday? Anyone in the know?

I'm anything BUT in the know, but the schedule on the Mosport web site shows no one after us until Friday. If that's correct, then that might bode well for staying over Tuesday night.

I'm more interested in the other end: the schedule also shows the BMW club there until Sunday. Any guesses as to when they should finish up and allow us to drive across the track? 5:00?

Wait a minute... what am I thinking? I've got a Miata! I can drive through the tunnel! 8)
