Question: when arriving the day before the COMSCC event do i head towards the pits or is there some other place we go (and with electrical hookup i hope). Sorry for newbie camper questions, not bringing wife to events means saving thousands of $$ due to no hotel fees Smile
Usually with the Com Club , they pay extra for camping. Two years ago the track charged $50- extra for electricity. You could go in the night before after 6:00 pm. With the Audi Club , they do not pay extra for camping but the track lets you stay at the top of the hill in the registration building parking lot. it is located past the main gate at the top of the hill out side the track. There is no electricity, the boxes are all locked. If I can't get in to the track Sunday night I will be there. I have a small generator that runs 5-6 hours on a tank. You are welcome to plug into me for heat etc. Just look for the black "MG' trailer. See you there Steven.

Dan, MANY thanks for the info and planned on arriving around 5pm the day before and like you, have a generator (a quiet type, 56dB @ 7 feet). Many thanks for the generous offer! Will PM you my cell number, lets make sure we meetup and perhaps dinner too somewhere as i don't have a portable grill (yet)? If you have a grill i'll pickup some steaks.
Enjoy the Track,

Steven R.

What's Seneca getting for the motel style rooms these days? No NHIS= more fun at WGI. Gas prices being what they are, the extra towing gas $ might put a crimp into the lodging budget.

Bill S. hope you're bringing the Cobra R- it'll be fun.

I am still sorting confirmation on whether to take the family. If they don't come I'd be happy to share at Seneca Lodge (I have room confirmed) . I got the rate at $67 plus NY tax, blah, blah, blah...
I'll keep ya'll posted.

Last week I spoke to the dude and he said the restaurant will NOT be open until May. But the bar will.
BTW: The Seneca Lodge stinks (literally) but I will be rolling in at midnight from racing at NHIS Sunday and need a place big enough for my trailer so I am bringing nose plugs.

Well I thought it would be worth a try. They are opening for the SCCA on the Friday before we go there. But , the restaurant is not open until May. For a group they might open. But, someone that can give them a definite answer has to call her.....soon.
See you all up there

lodging

Post by boltonite » Tue Apr 10, 2007 6:06 am

I've stayed at seneca lodge and the accommodations there suck but I love the restaurant.

I usually stay at the Seneca Clipper Inn - weekday rates are dirt cheap, they are clean, have free wifi/broadband, parking for trailers in back, and rooms for 2 (even cheaper). Located downtown on Main St near the grocery store.

OK, I cancelled the Seneca Lodge and will go with the Seneca Clipper Inn. As tired as I will be, the nose plug requirement forced a change.
The price at the Seneca Clipper Inn is $30.00 cheaper than the Seneaca Lodge! $38.00 per day. :D

The lady told me $38.00 for a single, $48.00 for a double. Free internet and Continental breakfast. Plenty of trailer parking behind the motel.
