Seat question?
Looking for some opinions on a pair of race seats for my 87 firebird. I'm planning on caging the car over the winter (assuming I find the time) and would rather not use the stock cloth seats. I've looked at the recaro's but don't really want to spend $600+ per seat. Any other more budget friendly options or am I saving my pennies? The car also sees lots of street time so some comfort is also a concern. Looking for any and all opinions so fire away. I'd like to be able to stay in place without wedging myself into the door panel while I autocross/track the car lol.

If you are running SPA, use 1 good driving seat (checkout some imort tuner mags) and bolt a plastic childs seat for the passenger area. This was done by Frank Perron in his 71 Barracuda. Rules don't say they have to match. If street driving car, again checkout tuner mags or Racer mag.

Try Corbeau seats. They are far less expensive, and there are some Subie guys who use them in their rally cars. The only complaints have been that the material seems to wear out quicker.
Also, you might want to consider a seat that's 5/6 point harness capable, with the hole on the bottom. I personally wouldn't get a 4 point harness for track, and don't feel too secure with the sub belt coming over the seat front.
