Turn 3 Thompson

Post by Aricracer » Fri Apr 28, 2017 1:09 am

With a heavier car, with good mechanical grip, is it faster to not stap the breaks in turn 3, and just hang on, or stab to begin rotation? It seems subtle depending on tires and track moisture ?

I dont stab the brakes, but do trailbrake heavy into 3 to get some early rotation. I feel like my car benifits more from a good run out of 4 than the slight run from 3, so i in a way throw away 3 depending on traffic etc.

Also, did i see you registered for the scca school at thompson?

Probably should replace "stab" with "tap". I've been trying the turn with and without a brake tap. Some lap time data should help figure out which is faster. Also will try some trailbraking.

Yes, I completed the SCCA school last Friday. Rained all day, good times!
