Hey guys,
Wanted to chime in. These videos and the discussion are very helpful.

I can see several (all) corners I can make vast improvements on and a lot of the feedback from Dave makes more sense now.

I had a blast out there, it may only be the second track I've been on but I loved the layout.
I don't think I'll be able to make the next couple events but I will sell my left kidney if need be to make it back for the next Palmer event. And I may just have to to afford the event and a new set of tires hah.

By the way I love the club, overall everyone is extremely friendly even when I'm asking a billion stupid questions or making a good roadblock.

Oh, anyone need a kidney?

Ha!!!

Everyone starts slow but eventually they all pick up the pace if they stick with it. Kudos to you and your Fit... You definitely win the "run what you brung" award for Palmer 1. That is a good thing.

No worries Chris - you and your Fit were doing pretty well out in run group 3. You were looking pretty clean from my perspective and were well mannered with traffic. I believe all of us were probably roadblocks through at least one turn between Saturday and Sunday, but you seemed great with your point-bys

I should be reaching out to you for a few graphics shortly to help get you back out on track as soon as possible :)

I'm leaving time on the table in at least a few turns. Namely 6, 8 and especially 10. My gearing sucks for this track. I'm short shifting in places to avoid hairy shift spots. Car is too damn heavy.
I struggled learning the track on day 1. I think it had to do with all the scattered traffic (other people trying to learn too). It was damn near impossible to string together several clean corners in a row. I need lots more practice. The track is absolutely amazing. I can't wait to get back.
Thanks for posting this. I'm also in a T70 E36 M3 and now i see what 8s/lap faster looks like. My vid looks like i'm out on a Sunday cruise. :) I ran 1:55s in the time trial which i was happy with, but my GoPro ran out of juice and failed to record.

Saturday Session 4:
(I'm also testing out my new homemade dash/datalogger w/ RaceRender, hence the gauges all over the screen)

I did three consistently slow laps. :D

From other people's TT videos, it appears I'm not maximizing my speed through 3, then braking extremely early for 4 (because scared), am in maybe the wrong spot and going too slow for 6, going slowly through 8, and again in 10.

I tried adding a little speed in the open track and found about 1s just being less hesitant.

I can't believe I waited this long to get a camera, because this is my first TT video.

I can't wait to go back!
Hi Fred:

I talked about many of my reference points for turn in and braking in the track walkthru I did for the classroom. Were you able to make it to either of the sessions on Saturday?

Yep. I went to the first one. It was a lot to absorb, 14 turns in around 14 minutes! :D

I remembered to be patient in 2 until I sighted the black pavement patches, the high tire stack in 7, "aim at the corner worker" in 9 from your presentation. The rest I tried to feel and follow people to see what they were doing.

Thanks Rick,
I only saw myself once in your video and not to toot my own horn but, you are correct that point by finger is looking pretty sharp!
