Car was dyno'd down in Kingston NH on Dyno Jet at 394 who/ 360wtq we were limited by the wastegate spring, So Now I will change the waste gate spring and then see what happens. Should be closer to 450 maybe more on 93 but have to see where the EGT's take us. Also see VP Racing fuel for 100 octane *Maybe* It's 268.00 for 15 gallons Which I'd probably only run on TT day anyway.

o-crap did i say that out loud ?
See, You never curse someone , because you never know what's around the corner  [

quote="962porsche"]at the least i'm making more more thru every event so i am making head way with the drive line issues . it's not the chains any more it's now in the rollers of the chain tensioner . so some day i will get this car up to speed with out things braking .

it would be good to see you at the nhms 4 event . did you ever get signed off for your comp license with comscc ?
I really wanted to make it to that event but how the tuning fell I was short one day. I'd like to David but we shall see nothing is ever set in concrete.

it sucks you missed this season too ! i hope to see you at some events next season ?
with my car i'm really getting down about it !
i have been chasing one fix after another . its started with clutches i bought the car knowing that thats why i got the car cheap . but then it went to eating chains i fix that then it's the chain tensioner . from there it's the rollers on the chain tensioner . now it seams the gear box will be the trubble .
last night i started building two chassis for the car one is just a new back half using the same type of motor but a deferent lay out . turning the motor in the chassis the way it sits in a motorcycle .
the other is a all new chassis front to rear using the porsche boxter S motor , trans and suspension . i'm building the tub out of aluminum using a honeycomb design like the porsche 962's used . years ago i restored a 962 and took all the tub measurments then so it was ez for me to change the design to get the boxter suspension to bolt up to the 962 tub . at my best guess is the car with the boxter parts will weight in at the high 1200 LBS low 1300 LBS range with 290 HP .

Pearl lives with fresh turbo

Post by Neptune441 » Sat Mar 16, 2013 3:00 pm

Well After a blown AMR T60R making 408whp 350 torque DynoJet numbers... The center bearing walked completely out of the turbo leaving about 1/2 engine oil in the downpipe/CBE ( That was a royal PITA  I had some suspicions coming back from the tuning and even the tuner said the turbo didn't sound right.. sure enough later that week boom.. bye bye Turbo. Now very happy with the turbo I have in there now and went down to see EFI Logics a few weeks ago and here's the results.

Oh Well , awaking from the dead I suppose, I've had one pitfall after another but .. I now have a car that is ready. I switched the set up and went fully rotated Image I went down to EFI Jan 4th the frigin coldest day of the year -12 degrees and have an AEM Fuel Pressure regulator set with a smaller orifice and as they wanted to crank pressure up to 52psi the system saw that and said I don't think so... and sent back pressure through the crankcase right to the turbo seal and destroyed the seal. Luckily it was not catastrophic but you could tell it was not good. Then came the decision to upgrade the turbo and injectors and new fuel pressure regulator(Aeromotive). As it stands right now I am giving 2014 a green light! On a side note I have learned that shell racing fuel has pulled out of the US, but is continuing to make racing fuel under a new name called "FUSE" which is unleaded as high as 116octane and as low as 105.

Well this will be my first time out in my STI , but not my first rodeo as I've had a speed3. I've been given some advice from Ted who is a owner of a 06-07 STI with FPRed "Like" turbo on the track set up. I'm happy over all. Good to see another subaru member as well. I met a few last race in October ( Were you parked in the corner near the apex of T12? If so I believe I met you.
