Given the safety concerns and Dan's strong endorsement, I'd like to run DBA 4000s on the car when it's on track, but they are listed as slotted. I guess I'll have to think about that a little more. For now, I'm putting a set of Centric rotors on the car for daily driving.

For what it's worth, I think that I agree with Tom's assessment of trim /model.
You can get DBA 4000 blanks. I had those on my WRX way back in the day.

Based on the PROPOSED 2013 rules and the PROPOSED classing guide lines, replacement of factory (design) stock type rotors will penalize you.

Brakes

Competitor must add all points from the Brakes Modification Assessment points table below. This figure must be added to the Showroom Assessment along with any Modification Assessment points from other categories (e.g. engine, suspension) to determine the Total Assessment and Classification. Any modifications not listed below must be disclosed and evaluated by the Scrutineer.

Assessment Description
1 Modified OEM brake brackets
2 Non-Factory Trim brake calipers/rotors kit - front, rear or both.
1 Non-Factory Trim rotors of a different size or design than OEM
2 Non-Factory Trim/modified ABS (ie Bosch Motorsport ABS)
0 Non-Factory Trim rotors of the same type and shape as OEM
0 Non-Factory Trim brake pads
0 Non-Factory Trim/modified brake lines

If the assesed points keep you in the same Assessed Point group, no harm no foul. Note there is, in the PROPOSED, 2013 classing NO SS class, NO ST class, NO SP, None of the previous classes. Your class category would be determined by base car assesment number for your particular car plus modifications as posted in the PROPOSED 2013 Car Classification Guide. There will be a trial of a few chosen cars with the new classing configuration at the NHMS 4 event. An explanation of the entire new classification system is forthcoming shortly in this forum. I didn't want to "spill the beans", but there has been much discussion among members and I wanted to jump in and clarify this thread about brake rotors.

Great, thanks, Sam.

Since we aren't going to make it to NHMS-4, I'll just wait for the new rules to come out before buying my track rotors.

In the meantime, I'll see if I can find DBA 4000 blanks for the Evo. I've only seen slotted DBA 4000s for that car.
