G Tech Pro RR

I would like some info on a G Tech Pro RR ...Has anyone use one or know of someone that has tried one and I would like to know how they did.I am thinking of buying one for my auto-xs and the hill climbs and yes for my slow track days too

I have had excellent luck with G-Tech products,although I don't have the laptimer one..yet. Looks like a winner to me. That reminds me..time to list my Racelogic gps timers on Ebay...

that would be something to see for sure.......now did the G Tech ok with a lot of woods or did they work better out in the open

GPS based devices do best in clear overhead conditions for crisp,accurate reception,but they will tolerate intermittent blackouts (bridges/trees) and still plot data. Some heavy overcast days they will not acquire satellites,no matter how many cold starts you perform.(reboots,basically)

My Racelogic GPS units would either work like a charm..or drive me crazy,by reading out incorrect displays,..splits instead of hot lap times,even though I didn't set splits....not record data..it had a mind of its own...
It had nothing to do with them being GPS based; even on clear blue days, they just would not work as programmed.It drove me nuts..
Tried many things with the manufacturer..upgrades/updates..replaced them..twice..remote antennas..but I'm all done. They are not reliable..! I'd be better off with a good stopwatch in one hand..

I was planning on trying the Pro RR based on my experience with G-Techs original Pro meter,which I still own.That unit works easily (user friendly) and is accurate.

Their website makes the Pro RR sound easy to set up,and the reviews so far have been positive.
