So true. Last year I did 3 days at Mont Tremblant with the BMW club. Even though it was my first day at the track, I felt like I learned more on day 3 than on day 1. You are in a rhythm, you can stop thinking so hard about the basics, and you can fine tune your line, braking, and throttle. In the 964 I took of 3 seconds between day 2 to day 3 even as the tires were drastically losing life from co-driving for a couple events.TroyV wrote:A three day thing at any of the Canadian tracks would be totally amazing. I did the three days at NHMS this year, and I learned more about driving that track on the open day than ever before.
I went to WGI for the first time this year, and I couldn't help but think of how beneficial a 3rd day would be. The first day (for me anyway) is usually just getting the rust off, building confidence, remembering the turns (or learning the turns). By day 2 you are less worried about trashing your car (dad's car) around a corner you don't know well, and you are actually working on getting faster. I was still taking at least 1 second off my lap time each run group all the way through the open track on day 2. A 3rd day would have been a priceless (...almost) learning experience.
