SP harness rules
I remember a couple years ago when the SP safety rules were changed so that, among other things, the harness/belt rules were the same as for SS/ST (viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1643). Supposedly this was done to lower the barrier of entry for people with small mods that put them in SP. I just heard from a prospective new member that he probably won't do COM events because his supercharger pulley puts him in SP, and he would need to install a harness bar and harness in order to run. I was remembering the discussion from a couple years ago and didn't think that was right, so I looked it up. In the current rules, it seems he is in fact right:

Re: SP harness rules
Dave,
There was a typo in the first revision of the 2010 rule book omitting SP from the list, and I believe it was fixed in the newest version. In short, SP cars can use OEM and other DOT harnesses.

Re: SP harness rules
Thanks for the clarification. The online version of the rule book on the web page still just shows SS and ST. Since that's the one people are likely to check, it should probably be updated if it's out of date.

Re: SP harness rules
I also thank you for the clarification; I'm the guy Dave_G was referring to (we're both members of the Sports Car Club of Vermont). For the record, I have a 2002 MINI Cooper S with a 15%-reduction supercharger pulley (+ CAI, Springs and rear sway bar), thus the question.
