Re: corvette zr1
It could end up being the fastest car GM ever built. Sure would be cool to take it for a weekend test drive..

Re: corvette zr1
No problem Mark. I am sure the COM Time Trialing License would be just the ticket to getting a test drive.breakaway500 wrote:It could end up being the fastest car GM ever built. Sure would be cool to take it for a weekend test drive..

Isn't that what the car is built for?

Re: corvette zr1
^ I agree. That much performance for that kind of money is a screaming deal. Would I buy one? Naah..it has a roof and fenders... (and yes,I know you were being facetious.. )

Re: corvette zr1
ya sales has it locked up in the shrow room with those carbon ceramic brakes begging for someone to bring them up to temp but for 20 grand i could make a screaming pro stock thats more fun to drive and faster

Re: corvette zr1
Hmm...I dunno...the ZR1 experience will be very hard to duplicate in a pro stock, at any cost..
They are very cool looking and performing Corvettes, and I would love to see one run with COM...but chances are,we won't see one on track, ever. What a shame..

69 camaro, dry sump ls6,t-56, 4.10 detroit tru trac lsd rear, c6 front chassis, tq arm rear chassis, 275 front/335 rear tires, atl fuel cell
Re: corvette zr1
One of our friends just had two Camaros built with LS9s and paddleshifters. Both were at Sema. They're like 7 or 900 hp.. something esoteric. I think that the ZR1 would tear everyone a new one on the track.

Too bad we will never see one on track.... 99.9% of them will never leave their garages.

Re: corvette zr1
Your wish is my command.. Here is a ZR1 on track...driven rather well.. The chase car is 04 Cobra driven by a buddy of mine.. The flea market situation at around 3:12 gives the Corvette an opportunity to cut across a coned chicane.. I can't really make much sense of the lines my friend is driving....particularly the first real left hander in the vid.

Re: corvette zr1
Driven rather well? I am sure the ZR1 is more capable than that..!!

Re: corvette zr1
I did say rather.....
I'm sure it is more capable.....but I think the car is driven well enough in a DE context and among the group around them. You can't really expect a guy that just spent a small fortune on a machine like that to be pushing 10/10..
....well...I guess I can expect that in your case.... How many times did you say you spun out at a DE?
