Braille Batteries
Braille Batteries
Anyone have experience with them? Product description says they must be charged with an "AGM" battery charger. Are these different from the typical battery charger, and are they hard to find in your typical gas station/repair shop?
Thanks

Re: Braille Batteries
I charge my 26Ah Hawker Genesis AGM battery with a regular 10-amp charger. No problems, except when I leave the battery connected over the Winter, and when the voltage drops below a threshold the headlight relays CLOSE and power up the lights, sealing the $150 battery's doom. I should fix that...

Re: Braille Batteries
I have one, i cant remember if its the 6lb or 10lb variety. it works fine, though if the car sits for a long period of time the battery has a hard time turning things over. so I just keep it on a trickle charger when its collecting dust. Ive heard that these types of batteries go bad (chemically)if they dont stay charged.
as for charger, I have an el cheapo sears charger that fits the bill per the instructions (yes I actually read it)

Re: Braille Batteries
My Atoms use Braille batteries and I have charged them with a Battery tender many times with no ill effects. I have a Braille in the Focus and also use a BatteryTender to keep it topped off. I think they (Braille) are mostly worried about forcing too much amperage in the battery too quickly. Any trickle charger around 1amp/hr. should be fine.

At time of writing, I was not fully informed of the extent of Mark's obsession with this marque. Sure beats acquiring every Renault Dauphine found by the side of the road.Stynger wrote:Right......if you have three feet!cuda6666 wrote:That's a kind of running shoe, right? Re: Braille Batteries
All foot jokes aside I have read that Braille is made by a company called Deka
The Braille is supposedly a rebadged Deka with a higher price tag (same batt.)

Re: Braille Batteries
I have also read that Braille batteries are reboxed Dekas, however Braille denies it.They do both use the same technology in manufacture, but according to the salesman I talked to at Braille, the rumor is totally unfounded.
I once owned a Dauphine. Did not see anything interesting about the car.
