The rules are that car classifications cannot be changed during the season. Make proposed changes next October/November or earlier if the changes are sweeping.ctkag wrote:
What I would have preferred to see was a modification to the ST rules that permitted more modifications as typically seen on street-driven cars and left SP as the place for more highly prepared yet still street legal cars. Allow in ST such things as injector/carburetor/manifold upgrades, maybe even - brace yourselves - boost upgrades via boost controllers/ECU tuning. I'm thinking of trying to encompass what the typical 'tuner' car on the street might have done.

I applaud the BOD for making this change. I certainly respect the opinions of those who think this may not be a good thing but I am happy to see it.
I too believe in safety and run a SA full face helmet, neck restraint and a world class harness bar and harness setup. However, as I am tall (6'4") I had no hope of going up to an SP class and passing the 2" rule for rollbars.
Now I can safely go to SP with my new hiem joint IRS suspension and even consider coilovers for my car! WOOHOO.
Thank you BOD!

You are welcome Tom! Your input in the rules meeting last year and some conversations with guys who run with SCDA, and other clubs, were key in our decision.tju-vette wrote:I applaud the BOD for making this change. As for the changes ctkrag favors, I hope that does not come to pass. ST has been thought of as the suspension, intake and exhaust mod class, with SP being more motor oriented, i.e. boost controllers, cams, aftermarket turbos, etc. ST cars have a legimate place in the rules. We have opened up the SP rules, so mod away for SP.
