Thanks.
It took me a minute to figure out that these were different shots.

My rear tire is in the exact same spot in both photos. It might not be the right spot, but at least i'm consistent.

I see what you mean. I am guessing that the shots looked more different before I cropped them...now you have to look at the driver's head to see that they are not the same picture!

Here are some photos I took of Day 1 at WGI: http://www.flickr.com/photos/13663358@N ... 232330873/

I only had time to take pictures of one run-group (#2) so I apologize if you don't see yourself in the pictures. Also, if any one has pictures of the gray Lancer Evo #1117 going around the track, I would love to see them!

Thanks!
Thanks for the pics!

I am glad that video idea worked in the classroom... I am still trying to get this 875 MB file dowloaded so they can view on line...
I went out in their student session (much like Dan does too) to check them out, see if they are giving the point by, check their lines, etc and video taped the sessions and showed in the classroom. I can see how this helped get an 0.036 s ahead ... 8)
I knew I broke my track record of last year, even had the car tech'd just in case.
I guess I must bow in true Japanese fashion and re-learn the word "Su-baru" ... Kore, Doste... Nanu-Steru-no! (look at this, how dare you!)

Mick, that's retarded! Awesome job, dude. I also had to double check and thought they were the same until I saw the driver's head.

Where's that "we are not worthy" emoticon.... :)

Were you consistent driving...but the photographer was consistent in snapping the shots!

What the hells up with the added lines to your sig. and the DQ-was this brake related?

No the DQ was hub related. I got the brakes working awesome after finally getting my head out of my a$$. There was nothing wrong with the brake system other than that fact that the rear pads were completely gone. The rear caliper pistons were fully extended, and as a result, the entire braking system didn't work. Once I changed the rear pads, the brakes worked awesome. But then came my next delimna....during the time trial, I ended up early apexing turn 9 and was going too fast into the corner, the rear end got loose (I think it is time to go back to my stock rear sway bar!), and I almost saved it....but I went off and rubbed the wall and painted a nice blue stripe down the passenger side. It wasn't much of a hit, so I just kept going. Then on my last lap of the time trial, at the heal of the boot (turn 8), my driver's side front axle hub snapped in two, and the wheel went flying up the track. I went off into the grass and didn't hit anything. My wheel went all the way up to turn 9 from 8, and almost made the turn....but then it came rolling back and almost hit my car on the way back. I have had problems with these hubs before, but nothing like this. I am currently in the process of re-designing the hub, so that I can put re-packable tapered wheel bearing in it. My design is complete and I am in the process of getting pricing for machining. It should be a great improvement over the stock design. I was lucky that it came off where it did.....had that happened during the high speed downhill turn after the bus stop, I am sure the car would not look so pretty!

That sucks- but like you said, could have been worse. I remember watching an American sedan SCCA race in the late 80s and Brian Walls (went on to do some Nascar) was running a Camaro. He lost his LR wheel going into turn 3 at NHIS. I caught up to him in the paddock he said he tried to get 3 races out of the rear axles- knowing full-well that they only lasted 2 races. No doubt the stock designs aren't made to do what we do.
BTW the Baer hubs I use allow me to use inner/outer bearings like the old days- none of this pressed-on crap.
