Great event at the Glen

Post by StephanAlfa » Wed Apr 23, 2008 11:58 am

Folks;
The WGI event was a complete blast: nice weather, great track
Everything nicely coordinated down to the food brought in.
I heard nothing but great comments so Kudos for all those who worked on putting this together.
Sam ran Operations like a pro, Carl is a pro as Chief Instructor, his Wendy is even better when doing timing , and his son is much better calling the run groups 8), Bill H., Will, Les, Bill F., all the instructors and DJ at Pit Lane Control.
I did the classroom and heard tons of praises from the students about our instructors.
For students reading this topic I am in the process of editing the video I took for your run group (as you requested) but I need to shrink it to less than 100 MB so my photobucket site can accept it. Any ideas?

Oh, I almost forgot: Bruce has decided to go drag racing with his formula       ... I'll let him tell his story  .

I'll second Stephan's great review of the event. I had a ball and as usual when ever some one needed help there were plenty of people willing to do whatever was needed to get you back on the track. Although there were a couple of anxious moments we seemed to have a safe couple of days. Whoever ordered the weather deserves a raise, double their salary!
Thanks to all those who run the show, another job well done.

Raj -

You e-mailed me and said, "I'll work on getting it up."

Did you mean something else? Sorry if I misunderstood you.

I have not fixed it yet. At the Glen I did not need a 3rd gear 8)
I was baffled and happy. Broke my own track record from last year but a student in an Impreza got me by 0.036 seconds thus I was sincerely happy for him and that was a great effort. I had a blast there.

Lew is not a total noob. He has been autocrossing for at least 3 years now and I think has attended a few bmwcca and at least prior comscc event. but if folks want to consider lew a noob just to make stephan feel even worse, i would guess lew would be okay with that!

Lew has been to a few BMWCCA events with Patroon--including WGI.

He was fired up to beat Stephan though---something about a video in the classroom....

Hi guys,

Here are some photos I took of Day 1 at WGI: http://www.flickr.com/photos/13663358@N ... 232330873/

I only had time to take pictures of one run-group (#2) so I apologize if you don't see yourself in the pictures. Also, if any one has pictures of the gray Lancer Evo #1117 going around the track, I would love to see them!

Thanks!
