I think that would put you in the "you are out of your mind" class.

Yup - that would place you firmly in PB - could be a lot of fun - go for it!

"...go for it!"

I don't need any encouragement!!!

If I use the Miata as my back up car(leaning strongly that way),this would

free up the Focus for...experimentation.

If I could get the car down to 1500lbs....(or less) I would almost have a FWD Atom.

Almost...

I'll have to look at the regs for PB class

The PB class is virtually anything goes, as long as you have no more than six cylinders naturally aspirated or 4-5 forced induction.

Also known as one of the "you are out of your mind" classes.

Both cars sound like fun. Would be cool to have some "regular" turbo or S/C Miatas. I'm surprised we don't have a few turbo s/c Miatas show up regularly. That is in itch I may have to scratch soon.

The Mazdaspeed Miata is a fun car,but the six speed tranny leaves a bit to be desired.I refer to it as a mystery shifter. The engines power band comes on nicely by 4k but smacks into the rev limiter at 7200 with a vengence.I'm going to try the Mazdaspeed optional motor mounts and diff mounts next week.Surprisingly, the Mazdaspeed Miata does not come from the factory with these more rigid mounts.
If I could get the powerband of the Focus into the MSM I would be happy. However, that would probably place the car into a class where it would not be competitive.(Hydra,DP,injectors, turbo upgrade etc)
I don't want to be a speed bump for STi's forever

Anything goes eh? FrankenFocus! At <1500lbs and 235fwhp,it would be real interesting!

Hey.....leave him alone. I think SSA is a great place to be. I think there's going to be a lot of cars there once again.
