Yes, i was referring to Tom C. Was getting my Pi2 beacon from the track when i saw the flatbed coming off the track with Tom C in the passenger seat and his first words to me were filled with good humor. i was so very relieved to se him ok and in good spirits.

Tom knows the true words about never track a car you would not push off a tall cliff and walk away from and not be deeply concerned, but have seen where other track guys at other events have not fully accepted this fact and, well...

FYI: Was driving at WGI last year and a very, very, truly mean VERY expensive vintage (?late 1950's?) red Barchetta got lightly walled about 10 car lengths in front of me and... i think his repair bill easily cost more than my entire car(!).
Enjoy the Track,

Thanks everyone for the concern. I'm fine, and I'll fix the car in time for April NHIS. Solid American steel took the hit well; some other cars would have fared a lot worse I'm sure.

Thinking about it a bit, if you have to hit something at NHIS, that's probably the best place to do so. The foamblocks help, but the fact that the jersey barriers gave way (pushed 2 of them over) helped absorb a lot of energy. Kudos to the ramp truck guy for carefully picking the car from it's perch on top of the toppled concrete... As for the root cause, I'd say 10% used-up tires and 90% driver stupidity. Made the pass I shouldn't have, and ran out of braking zone.

Tom C,

Will be great to see her back in action in April.

(Good friendly humor) You proved that good ol' American Muscle cars are very strong and have great torque...

Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall.
Torque is how far you take the wall with you.
Enjoy the Track,

I think there are 7 pages of Sam's red speed 3 and 7 pages of my student's silver speed 3 in there. No pix of my CRX that I could see.

I want one of those speed 3's after being in one for a day!!!

Any more photos that folks are willing to share? I remember someone taking photos at the top of turn 6.

Obviously, I am looking to collect photos of the little pesky honda which kept beeping at turn #3.

They got back into their black helicopters and then flew back to the auto insurance companies' secret headquarters.
