Re: OMG I finally did it.

When you get around to setting up the suspension or building a big brake kit, give me a shout. I'm the guy with all the TR8s down in Mass. I bought that carpet kit from you and maybe some other stuff as well. Recently picked up another TR8 race car. This one was prepped for CP back in the 80s and th...

Re: TR7 Build String

A couple more pictures. We are also running the same setup on street cars. Changing springs takes less than 10 minutes a side, because all you have to do is unbolt the top shock mount, lower the wheel, pull out the spring and slide in a new one No need to remove the whole strut assembly.

Re: TR7 Build String

DSC02676.JPG Just remembered that I had some pictures on my computer of how to make the front coilover setup. Takes about 2 hours to do so. Uses a standard coilover 5" sleeve and a piece of steel pipe split and welded just above the clip that holds the brake line. Stock strut tube is considera...

Re: TR7 Build String

That sure is a pretty car. You don't come across too many TR7s in that color. Plenty of TR8s but very few TR7s. Those look like the uprated road springs that all the vendors sell. They won't be stiff enough for New Hampshire. They make decent cushy road springs, but not even close to being stiff eno...

Re: TR7 Build String

Didn't get anything. Must be a "new guy " issue on my end. Best bet is to send an email.

Re: TR7 Build String

I would consider selling it. I don't have much into it, and the car kind of found me. It has a fairly extensive racing past and some high dollar items. I'm not a BMW guy, but I just couldn't pass it up. If you're interested in the car, shoot me an email or call me. I can give you a rundown on the ca...

Re: TR7 Build String

Here is a link to a TR7 roll bar for $50 on CL. Looks like it would make a good start for a cage. It would need a diagonal and cross bar added, but that's the easy part. Bending tubes to fit is the hard part.

Re: TR7 Build String

I can't believe you bought floor pans. Never seen anybody do them on a wedge before. Sure a patch here or there. Maybe even plasma a section out of a parts car, but new pans??? I did the floor pans on a Stag a couple of years ago. Only place to get them was from England and they would have cost over...

Re: TR7 Build String

Thought I'd share what the door panels look like with a proper cage. SCCA made me remove the disco ball I had hanging from the roof.

Re: TR7 Build String

I found this thread doing a little internet surfing. I ran COM many years ago in a TR8 coupe. Around 95 or so I switched over to SCCA ITS in the TR8. Still have the car, but it hasn't seen the track in several years. Thinking about getting back into some track days this year, as I have a couple of b...
