Re: Suggestions for a Miata head rebuild?

Yeah... I might need to replace the whole car... Unfortunately that link to CL you posted above is gone. I stored my car on dollies this winter pushed to the side in my garage and yesterday I went out and did a shell game swapping cars around to get it ready to go to a shop for the head gasket, and ...

Re: Suggestions for a Miata head rebuild?

I hadn't thought of going the whole new engine route... would an '01 engine fit in a '96? Its just an NB engine at that point right? When swapping in a new (used) engine, how do you evaluate the engine before dropping it in to make sure its in good condition? One frustrating thing about this is I ha...

Re: Suggestions for a Miata head rebuild?

Does participation in COM competition or A/X clubs count for a MazdaSpeed membership? I hadn't thought of sourcing a whole new engine...

Suggestions for a Miata head rebuild?

Hi Guys, Last fall I discovered the head gasket had blown on my '96 track Miata. Now I'm trying to figure out what to do about. I could do a basic head gasket job, but although the car isn't worth much, it seems silly to spend all that labor and put the old basic head back on. A build head from Flyi...

Re: FS: Hawk brake pads for 1.8L Miata

I'd be interested in a set of pads too, if you still have some. I'm in Salem, MA and will be at NHMS next Friday and Saturday.

Re: Mobile Phone Support for Forums?

Mick, That makes a lot of sense and I support your rationale. I happen to have paid for Tapatalk (on Android), but I'd be much happier with a free solution. The only thing I would say is that you could consider supporting multiple mobile platforms, both free and commercial. Although I suppose that r...

Mobile Phone Support for Forums?

Hi, I've been using a mobile app called Tapatalk ( http://www.tapatalk.com/ ) to access a bunch of forums like miata.net, etc. Adding support for Tapatalk is free for forum administrators, I was wondering if that is something COM could do? This is the link for forum administrators: http://www.tapata...

Ride-Along Questions

Hello, I have a friend visiting from Russia, and he is interested in motorsports. I thought he could come along with me to the NHMS event on July 2nd or 3rd, but I have a few questions about the ride-alongs. http://comscc.carclubreg.com/RideAlong.htm Can he come only on the training day (2nd?) or ca...

Masking Tape for Numbers?

Is it ok if I use a contrasting color masking tape for my door numbers?

This Saturday will be my first event.

Re: Too late to register?

Thanks, I just sent an email.

I clicked the 'delete all board cookies' link at the bottom of the forum page, and that seems to have fixed my login problems.

Too late to register?

Hi, I just went to the registration website to register for next weekend's track day, and the site said registration closed on the 10/17. I haven't actually tried to go through the process anyway... is it too late to register? I'd be a new member with a Miata, and this would be my first track day of...

FS: Miata Hard Dog Hard Core Hard Top Rollbar

I have a brand new M1 Hard Dog Hard Core Hard Top Double Diagonal Rollbar (say that 5x fast) for sale. I ordered it, took it out of the box, test-fit it in my car once, and decided I wanted the non-Hard Top version. This is for the first generation 90-97 Miata (pop-up headlights, NA, etc) The bar is...

Re: Miata OEM seats with lowered cushions Freebies

Hi,

I'm in Salem, MA, and would be interested in the mounting brackets for the seats, if someone else wants just the seats. I'm planning on getting some ultrashield seats for my Miata and was thinking the brackets might help with mounting the seats.
