Re: Where is everyone staying at Monticello

I've reserved a nonsmoking double room at the Day's Inn in Liberty, which is about 15 minutes farther away than the Lodge, but $20 per night cheaper, and highly rated by customers at both Priceline and Travelocity.

Would anyone like to share the room with me?

Re: Monticello Track Info

Like many of us COM members, I haven't driven Monticello. However, I have watched videos for quite a few laps, so I will hopefully have a pretty good idea of which way the tracks go when I get there. After digging around on YouTube I have compiled a list of some of the available videos: http://www.y...

Re: Memorable last event for 2008!

I've posted a blog about my adventures with Michael Fridmann and his Grand Am Lotus Esprit V8 during the last two events. Here: http://eaglewomansims.blogspot.com/ Thanks to Michael for letting me drive the car, and to Ray Patriacca and Michael for all the work they did to get the car ready and to f...

Cool stuff. I met one of the systems administrators at a vmware conference about 8 months ago. That would be a cool place to work. I would have joined this week if they had Mosport. Looks good for winter! Yeah, a great way to keep your hand in while the snow is on the ground. They have a bunch more...

The SCCA has just offered a month free subsription to all licensed racers via email! Cool! I hope to see a lot more SCCA racers in there soon. Maybe somebody will turn out to be fast enough to put those NASCAR guys like Dale Jr., AJ Allmendinger, and Brad Keselowski in their places. :D On the road ...

Is the LRP portion the old LRP or the new repaved track? jack The current version is the old LRP before it was repaved and added on to. I'm sure they will rescan it at some point, but they have a lot of other tracks in the pipeline, and I'm not sure where rescanning Lime Rock falls in the list of p...

Hi Alison, I remember talking with you on a couple of occasions about this - it sounded really exciting - I've read a couple of articles about iRacing - it does sound really interesting. For those who are sim racers - Dave Kaemmer was responsible for most of the original NASCAR Racing (the Papyrus ...

iRacing Service

Hi all! If you have a computer and you're into racing, you might be interested in a new computer-based racing service that is in the process of being rolled out to the public. This service is emphatically not a "video game", but instead is an uncompromisingly realistic simulation of real-w...

Wow - almost sounds like you're dealing with plutonium! Seriously, I'm guessing whatever you've developed this hyper-sensitivity to is something that you wouldn't normally run into. I'd hate for one of us to inadvertantly re-expose you to whatever this is. Good luck getting it all cleaned u...

I just wanted to follow up on the Cobra saga, and explain why I didn't bring it to Tremblant after all. As I mentioned in my earlier post, the Cobra, van, trailer, tools, and all my racing equipment were all contaminated by being in a hangar that was itself contaminated with an unknown toxic chemica...

Dan, Raj totalled his Sti coming out of Namrow, just before the Kink at the beginning of the pit straight. Hit the concrete head on at big speed. Actually, Raj hit the wall after the kink. He apparently dropped a wheel off on the outside (right side) of the track as he turned in to the kink. This g...

That's great news Alison. You took me for a ride in your Cobra on my first track day and I've been hooked ever since. I had to borrow Nate's fire suit for the ride. It wouldn't fit over my pants, so I had to strip down to my tighty-whities in the paddock to put it on. Well worth the embarrassment. ...

Did I tell you the outside rear on the S2000 was corded by the time I got home from Mosport? No wonder it was such a mess on time trials day.

See you there...
Woah!! Well, that explains the oversteer!

See you there!
