newbie, solo?
I am a newbie to the group, but I have been racing for a little bit. If I join you guys next time, can I do the time trial? If so, solo or with an instructor? I instructed at a few NASA sponsored events if that helps.

Usually you will be given a check ride by an instructor.
Hi Tom,
Yes, you would be allowed to register for both days (including the time trial). You'll either be assigned an instructor, or as Grove said, will be given a check-ride on the morning of the first day. The decision of instructor vs. check-ride is dependant on your previous experience and the discretion of our Chief Instructor. Either way, you should register as a STUDENT.
Anyone can register for both days, even 1st timers. ALL students MUST register for (and attend) the first day to run the 2nd. Students who demonstrate safe driving to their instructors on day one, will almost always be signed-off to run the 2nd day. This is at the discretion of their instructor.
Been a while since I've seen you at an autocross. Lots of Renegades run with COM.

Oh I see, so basically all time trial require the particpation of two days. I guess that would be good for track that are far away. I hope to join up on a day at Mosport and pretty sure about the Glen.
I have been lazy, I only autox and track around the house. It's not that I don't want to race with you guys, I just hate waking up early. Plus my car is too big for the course with the Miata guys.

Not really If you haven't been signed off (licensed) and you want to participate in time trials, then you need to sign up for both days as a student. This will allow an instructor to do a sanity check on you the first day. No instructors are assigned for the second day.tmak26b wrote:Oh I see, so basically all time trial require the particpation of two days.
If you are a licensed driver, you can sign up for either day or both days.
