non-COM Trip to VIR Nov 3-4

Post by jeffw » Fri Jul 27, 2018 1:55 pm

Hi:

I've gone to VIR many times, and it's one of my top 3 tracks. If you've never been, you owe it to yourself to drive it. Jeff Baker and Will Martins have made the trip down with me and they had a blast, too.

A friend of mine is running a weekend HDPE at VIR November 3-4 with the Audi Club. He's willing to allow me to introduce COM members and instructors, and ensure that everyone gets classed appropriately depending on skill level and car type. If you've driven VIR before, we'll get you in the solo/advanced groups. If you haven't we'll get you the right instruction to get you up to speed on the course quickly. If you're an instructor, we'll get you taken care of as well.

The local Audi club chapter runs a very good event. They mix instructors and advanced solo drivers into 2 run groups based on speed. There are some very very fast cars that show up, and the drivers play nicely.

The event will likely sell out in the next couple of months, so it's time to commit soon.

If you are interested, please let me know and get me your email address via PM as I'm going to coordinate this via a google group.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Curse you. Don't tempt me with VIR. I have this bucketlist idea of a cruise down the Blue Ridge Parkway to a weekend at VIR then back. Some day...

Jeff,

What configuration do they run? Dare I say... Grand course? 😀

There's a chance I could do this, timing is right.

Having lived in Raleigh for awhile, VIR is my "home" track. I've made the trip from Boston and I'd highly recommend it!

Another great club to run with down there is THSCC.

i was down at VIR on june 18th and 19th. it's a fun track i wasn't there in a number of years before june and it was good to go back.
the down side was it was 103 degrees H.H.H. weather the hole time we were there. can't wait until next season to go back again.
for sure it's worth the drive down.
