A whole new track to learn. Lap times were only 1:53s but I've only done a couple of laps. I do think lap times will be slower going clockwise.

Very cool,Dan! That 7-6-5 is intimidating...and the trackout pavement in 1 disappears fast! It amazed me how similar CCW and CW lines are. Thanks for doing this! 8) :sunny:

Wow, that 4,5,6 in reverse looks crazy! Nice lines, Dan!

Thanks for posting! Looks weird... and your car sounds like it has a bad alternator or something. You should get that looked at!

"...and your car sounds like it has a bad alternator or something."

Dans Lotus Exige has a roots supercharger,so whine is normal.

October 17 , the SCDA event, will run clockwise (backwards). The motorcycles have already run it clockwise. It's `FUN'

You'll have fun Butch. It has a lot more blind corners and even a higher top speed on the "straight"

Thanks again for the parts and help with my trailer at Watkins Glen :D :D :D

we ran a day clockwise with scda. it was fun :)
I didn't like it better or worse it's just different.
i did 6 laps with my students E36 m3 2 run sessions in my NA miata and two run sessions in our ( the wife's) 2015 STI .
i found to get the most out of each car i was taking a slightly different line thru old turns 5 and 4 .
if palmer is having a track day it's worth going.

Showing 53 and Sunny Saturday. We're in New England, next week is beach weather! :)

I'm forbidden from taking all my vacation days for track time, I need a few in the bank for Tremblant.

Palmer. Backwards. In the rain.

I enjoyed the clockwise configuration far more that I thought I would. Entry into T14 is phenomenal! T8 is a real turn now in a Miata. Entry into T5 is not as scary as I thought it would be. T1 is much more satisfying as well. I only had two dry sessions and lap times were into the 1:52s on Nittos. I actually think the lap times will be very close in both directions.

Thanks to Dan Darcy for loaning me the memory card for the video. Enjoy the slippery excitement.

Great job Dave. Too bad the weather wasn't more cooperative. Everybody that I talk to, that has driven the track clockwise, likes it just as well counter clockwise or even better.

hydroplaning, doncha love it? I'll bet it would be lot less scary with real rain tires. I was too lazy to put mine on in the wet, but my Chinese student with his 8,500 rpm V8 M3 learned hydroplaning when going over 80 mph. He did 140 in the dry. loud gutted muffler.
