Watkins Glen: September 11-12, 2017 Event Info

Hi Folks,

Here is the advance information for our event at Watkins Glen this year.

- There will be NO ENTRY to the track on Sunday night for anyone. This is a hard rule. Sorry. Gate opens on Monday at 6:00AM

- We WILL be allowed to drop off trailers on Sunday in the lot at Gate 3, top of hill past main gate. When parking your trailers at the above site, DO NOT park around the ticket office! Park trailers across the street in the field. EXCEPTION: If you are camping in your trailer, motor home, RV, etc. you MAY park on the tarmac adjacent to the Ticket Office. This will allow those camping to have use of the facilities as allowed by the track.

- To allow ample time for check-in and registration on Monday morning, members will be allowed to enter the facility at 6:00AM. Please DO NOT occupy a garage until you have received a confirmation that you have one. The COM Sports Car Club registration area will be located in the Main Garage, and will open from 700 to 800AM on Monday and Tuesday. Tech will be open from 7:05 to 8:05.

- The gas pumps will be open, with 100 unleaded.....There is no 93 available.... hours 800AM to 1130AM and 1230 PM to 330PM.

- Traffic flow around the garages is counter clockwise. The speed is VERY SLOW.

- If you have not booked a garage, please do not occupy the parking spaces directly in front of them. Leave room for the haulers.

- The restaurant in the media center will be open both days for the usual make'm your self sandwiches.

- A GUEST LIST (for family, crew members, etc.) must be provided to the track or these people will not be allowed entry. Please contact the registrar and email your guest list. If you have NOT notified COM of those attending, they will not be allowed entry. You MUST get that list to the registrar no later than 9/6/17.

- Pets must be leashed, and please watch for children. The paddock is a very busy place, so please be aware of your surroundings while walking or driving through.

- Camping is allowed on Monday night.

Do non-driving COM members need to be on the guest list?

Yes, you will be able to drop the trailer on Saturday.

Could I drop off my tire/utility trailer at Gate 3 Sunday afternoon, too? I'd rather not leave it out around town and motel etc.

Generally you can leave anything at the gate 3 lot. It's not staffed.

I had to leave the Palmer event before trophies were handed out but I'll be at the Glen on Tuesday for Day 2.
Who do I need to hunt down at Watkins Glen to pick up my Palmer trophy?

Rebecca Harvey usually has them with her; but I'm not sure if she is attending WGI or if she has room for them.
But keep your eyes open and ask a staff member at WGI.
