7 sets: BFG R1-S, 225/45R17, MX5 Cup takeoffs

Post by blindsidefive0 » Sat May 02, 2015 2:47 pm

I'm getting the hook-up again on BFGoodrich R1-S tires. They are from the Playboy Mazda MX5 Cup series (size: 225/45R17), with most sets being used for 1-2 sessions max (ahh...to have a pro budget...). Over the past 3 years I have practiced and time trialed on MX5 takeoffs and could not be happier with the quality/price.

A little info on the BFG R1-S - this is, along with the Hankook z214 C91 and new Hoosier A7, the top rated DOT tire in the club at 10 points. They are blazingly fast, and surprisingly durable (more so than the other 10 point tires). I typically get ~10 ripping fast heat cycles before tapering off around cycle 12-15 (still pretty fast). They retain practice meat up to 18-20+ cycles. Ideal pressure has been ~36 deg hot on my ~3100lb M3. Due to the relatively soft compound, they are best in cooler temperatures, but still outpace a Hoosier R6 or BFG R1 easily even on hot days. YMMV.

I will have a total of 7 sets for sale - 6 of which come with 2015 date codes (sometimes you cannot find 2015 date codes even from Tire Rack or Phil's because the newest tires go to the sponsored series), 1 of which come with 2014 date codes.

Pick-up in Wrentham, MA, possible delivery to Palmer-1, very unlikely for NHMS-1 - tires shipping on Monday via Greyhound Express from California.

Price for each set of 2015 date code tires (6 available): $475
Price for 2014 date code tires (1 available): $425

Let me know ASAP if you are interested - these tires typically get nabbed quickly.
