db levels at NHMS

Post by 4EyedFoxbody » Wed Apr 15, 2015 1:14 pm

Hey just wondering what the official db numbers are for NHMS this year? I saw 99 db when I was registering and wanted to make sure before the actual event! Thanks!

The info on the reg form is correct, and the track has asked us to stress they will be enforcing it for 2015. Sam worked with the track officials last year and warned a bunch of drivers that were over the limit. The track has those car numbers too is my understanding.

Well I am trying to be proactive about it as I was one of those warned. Hopefully helping others get their dB levels in check BEFORE the day of the event! Maybe a club wide email reminder would be helpful to those on the bad dB list and for those who may be on the bubble?

I was also one of the one's that was over but the problem I have is that it is hard to correct the problem with not knowing how much over I was. If I was over by 2dbs then that takes a little different way to solve the problem than if I was over by 15dbs. Yes I know it is over either way but one way you put a turn down on the other way you need some new mufflers

All those warned last year were AT LEAST 5 over. I no longer have the actual read outs, but our concern now is WHERE they will be taking the readings. I have proposed at the exit of turn 10 where the SCCA does their sound checks. Palmer is 96 by contract and Thompson is 100.
