I'm contemplating putting a small hitch on the FD so I can tow track day tires, tools, jack to the track. Figured I would tap the COM collective before doing an interwebz search
Any good somewhat readymade options out there?

Nothing readymade, but lots of folks use the harbor freight trailer as a starting point. It's usually better if you take a couple of the leaf springs out since you likely won't have much weight on it.
I think Nelson Chadderton was selling a tire trailer that started out with COM...It's on a boat trailer frame, so it's a bit longer, but very nice. Had room for 8 miata tires, and 2 toolboxes. I used it for a couple of years and sold it to Nelson.
