help removing airbags from 1995 Miata, also what size steeri
Hi,
Probably I can figure it out myself but since this can be dangerous and I have never done it before, is there anyone with the right knowledge who might like to help me remove the airbags from my 1995 Miata on Saturday morning in North Andover (Lawrence Airport)? I have the factory manual and simplified notes from the internet but might still want some advice.
Also, has anyone ever installed a sweet manufacturing steering wheel hub stub shaft on a miata? If so, before I have a chance to see for myself, does anyone know what size fits (if any)? (they come in a few different diameters to fit different size steering columns the one I used for my Midget is 3/4 inch I think).
thanks,
Rebecca

Becca i did a little write up on here on the forums .
it was ez to do and took me about an hour to figure it out but once i did it was a 10 minute job .
disconect the battery .
look under the dash for the bule boxes for the crap to the air bags you have to remove all of it then you can remove the bigs them selfs .
the worst part of doing the job was me a 6'1" person getting under the dash with the racing seats in the car .

Rebecca, I'll do both when you bring me the car. Buy the 3/4" sweet quick release and I'll make the adapter and weld it on. The bags will come out as part of dash removal.

chris,
Its a plan. I will go go ahead and get the sweet 3/4 inch shaft end.
Thanks to others for their helpful comments.

well, now that I have another Miata I can dedicate this car for track use. Previously I wanted it to be more drivable for other uses.

Hopefully I won't mix up the airplane and car parts (took them both apart at the same time).
