Non-track car wanted

After spending most of Saturday chasing and fixing an electrical issue in my son's jeep, I've decided this isn't the car he's taking to Indiana next month as he starts his Master's degree.

Since I might have to give him my truck, I'd rather buy from a trusted source ( ie not a dealer) an SUV $5,000 or under that you'd feel confident will last another 2 years without major issue.
