Help needed gutting Smokey

Post by jeffw » Sat Jul 20, 2013 10:09 am

(I can't believe how hard it was to type that subject line)

I'm planning on starting to strip Smokey over the next couple of weekends and was hoping to get some help. We can offer food & drink and an air-conditioned garage.

Please let me know if Saturday July 27th and/or Saturday Aug 3rd would work!

So the final diagnosis was death? I still think DWW would be able to pull it straight. Good luck with the stripping! Take EVERYTHING for spares, even the fuel tank if you can get it out...suspension, good subframes, fenders and doors, pedal assemblies, hard brake lines, etc. I started underneath and worked my way up/inside.

Jeff,
I would like to offer a hand but not sure about those two dates yet. Are you also working on Aug 4 (sunday)?

Rebecca: Hopefully not working on Sunday.

I think we have critical mass for this Saturday, and some folks are enthusiastic enough to think we could do a pretty solid job in one day, so we'll see if we need the Aug 3 weekend.
