Where are you guys getting Dyno'd?
Guys,
Now that DSG is closed, where are you guys going to get your cars Dyno'd? This is more important for people using the WHP numbers when classifying. Kaizen Tuning has a Dynodynamics but seem to only be open 9-5 M-F....

I was thinking of trying KTR Motorsports in Ayer (but did not have time yet).

I went to Granite State Dyno in Hudson, NH this morning. They were very accommodating, and it cost me $200 for two 3-pull sessions and a muffler/resonator swap-out in-between the sessions ($80/$80/$40). Although Alex didn't tune my car, I was very impressed with him & his shop. Good people.

What did your car make for power? He uses a dynodynamix dyno correct? I may take a ride up there for him to dyno mine since I will be using the whp calculator.

GSD has a Dynojet 224 for 2WD cars and a Dynojet 424 for AWD cars.
My car put out 318 HP / 246 Torque, which suprised me. That's about 6 HP higher than I expected; my points of reference are a 284 on the Dyno Dynamics at Dentsport and a 285 I got when the car was tuned on a Dynapak. I went to GSD after seeing it recommended here, and because I needed updated pull sheets for NASA; fortunately, I still fit into TT3 as the darned car never stops gaining weight. Have to run R1s in 235, however.
If you decide to use him, you might want to get on his schedule - Alex said he books two tunes a day, and he's scheduled through mid-May.

Personally I feel whoever is using the WHP calculator method for points should be required to use a Dynojet. NASA required Dynojet charts only and the reason is because other dynos like the dynodynamics can read a lot lower simply because the amount of variables that can be implemented to the readout. I spoke with Alex at Granite State and he said the same thing, Dynodynamics are not approved for Nasa because they are impossible to compare. Dynojets will read very similar no matter which one you go too. Nick, is there a required dyno everyone had to use for the WHP rules?

Those topics were discussed last year, we could have standardized on Dyno Dynamics or Dynojet since they both have a "shootout" style dyno mode that doesn't allow any correction factors by the operator. However at this point in time since everything is new, we don't want to be restrictive and allow folks to use whatever is convenient to them.

The dyno I had done 2 years ago was on a Mustang dyno in Sterling but now there is a place close to me in Boxborough, I believe it is Dyno Dynamics. I haven't done the fresh dyno yet, hoping to get in there next week. DSG did my Megasquirt and dyno last summer. Do you guys know where they went, especially Nick? This is not good news. What happened?

NASA required Dynojet ------ NOT entirely true, direct from NASA 2013 Super Touring Rules:
Dynamometer tests must be conducted on a Dynojet Model 248 or 224 for front and rear wheel
drive vehicles, and on a Dynojet, Mustang, Dyno Dynamics, or Dynapack for AWD cars, in a
commercial facility that offers dynamometer testing as part of their business and is open to the
public. All Dyno test results using a Mustang dynamometer or Dyno Dynamics dynamometer
will have 10% added to the maximum horsepower reading to obtain the number that will be used
to calculate the “Adjusted Weight/Power Ratio” (Mustang or Dyno Dynamics Dyno awhp x 1.1
= Maximum awhp for Wt/Hp calculation).
