New full tread Toyo RA1s: 205/50R15 (Miata size)

The SCCA has switched us to Hoosiers for the upcoming season so everyone left with Toyos from last season needs to spend lots of money to move over to the new spec tire. Grrrrr. I've got a set of full tread Toyo RA1s that were my rain tires from last season however we didn't have one single rain race all year! They were lightly run for 5 laps to scrub off the mould release compound just after I got them. Other than that, they haven't been used and have been stored in my finished basement when the weather turned cold. The dates codes are from the 47th/48th week of 2009 and were bought new from Treadzone last March for over $700 shipped (don't forget to add in the cost of shipping when determining the cost per tire). I'd like to get @$580 for them and will use them as practice tires if I can't sell them.

Cy...I'm sure you're boohooing about the spec tire change. You're going to pick up at least 2 to 3 seconds on all your best lap times. That's a lot to cry about.

My problem is the 2 additional sets that I'm probably going to have to buy next season because the Hoosiers fall off so quickly and get SLOW after X number of heat cycles, or so I've heard. That's 7 sets of Hoosiers for next season or dial back the racing...ouch. I can't afford that.
