ST interior ruling

Post by 6PAK72 » Sun Dec 25, 2011 3:17 pm

In reassembling the Miata after installing the cage, I can no longer fit the plastic trim into 2 spots in the car: the B post interior quarter panels and the under dash kick plates in the passenger and driver footwells.

The rules seem to indicate that behind the driver compartment were ok to leave the parts out. The front space is less clear.

Ruling please.

Jeff, this is quote from Nate in the other thread in response to Troy:

"
nateh wrote:Troy, we changed that rule at the most recent meeting:
In all classes, interior panels, trim, and carpets may be modified or removed to the extent required to accommodate roll bars, roll cages, or other safety equipment.
I've had quite a few of my proposals refused. In various cases, I've come back with a rewording and had them accepted. Other folks can say the same. The process is imperfect, but it rewards persistence and persuasiveness.
"

Maybe that makes things a bit easier for you?

Nate - can you pinpoint the section number and paragraph of the rules that reference's the quote 'In all classes, interior panels, trim, and carpets may be modified or removed to the extent required to accommodate roll bars, roll cages, or other safety equipment." Thanks.

The 2012 rules haven't been posted yet.

It's in Section VI. F. 5.
