Please support my bike ride across Cape Cod!

Post by zip4zat » Sat Apr 23, 2011 6:37 pm

Hi fellow track addicts,
Now that the driving season is upon us again and we're scurrying to find time to take care of all the work we had all winter to do, Im taking on an effort to also support those that cant turn a wrench, drive a car, or even get out of bed.

On June 25-26, I will bike 150 miles from Boston to Provincetown in support of the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Every hour of every day, someone is diagnosed with MS and that is why I'm asking you to support my fund raising efforts with a tax-deductible donation.

Multiple sclerosis (or MS) is a chronic, often disabling disease that attacks the central nervous system (CNS), which is made up of the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves. Symptoms may be mild, such as numbness in the limbs, or severe, such as paralysis or loss of vision. The progress, severity, and specific symptoms of MS are unpredictable and vary from one person to another. Today, new treatments and advances in research are giving new hope to people affected by the disease.

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is dedicated to creating a world free of MS but they can't do it without our help. It's faster and easier than ever to support this cause. To make a donation, simply click on the link below to visit my personal page. For all of you going to events in the next few months, consider donating a dollar for every lap you drive. OR, if you're going to Mosport I challenge you to donate $1 for every mile of track time you can muster!

National MS Society - Greater New England Chapter
PO Box 845945
Boston, MA 02284-5945

Any amount, great or small, helps to make a difference in the lives of people with MS. I appreciate your support and look forward to letting you know how I do.

I look forward to seeing you all soon to thank you personally,
Joe

So how many laps did you get in at Mosport? I got to drive almost 100 laps over the 2 days, in the rain none the less! As a suggestion, think about contributing just $1 for every lap you drive even for just 1 day at the track. Approximately 400,000 Americans have MS, and every week about 200 people are diagnosed. World-wide, MS affects about 2.5 million people. Please consider supporting the MS Society to fight this not yet curable disease.

Thanks to all those that have donated already, we greatly appreciate your generosity!
