MOSPORT 2011, May 2 and 3

Post by chaos4NH » Sat Apr 23, 2011 12:12 pm

1. First response from Mosport is regarding early arrival on Sunday,
May 1, entry to the track should not be a problem, however you may have to wait until 500 pm when they open the gate.

2. Can we drop off trailers Sunday night? Yes, after 500 PM and the gate is open all night.

3. Verify that it is still okay to camp at the track: Yes

4. The gate is usually open prior to our arrival each morning (6:45 AM) will it still be true?
Yes, Gate Guard starts at 6:30 am

5. The classroom will be located in the middle section of the garages by the front overhead door will be partially open in the am.

6. There be a PA system available to call our run groups up from the paddock, located in the upstairs room in the tower.

7. The decibel limit still unlimited. BRING EAR PLUGS!!

8. Cones will be available to place on the track indication turn in points, apexes, etc. I expect the instructor crew to properly place the cones.

9. The restaurant will be open each day from 730 am to 200 pm.

10. The entire paddock area is available for our use.

11. I will post info on the gas pumps after I speak with the pump operator (got plenty of cash??).
12. We can we leave trailers in the paddock Tuesday night for pick-up the next morning. However, the track gate will be closed around 830 am, so you must be out by then!!

13. Gas pumps will be open from 1000am to 1oopm on Monday, response will determine opening hours for Tuesday.
94 Octane Sunoco
100 Octane leaded
110 Octane unleaded is available - I was afraid to ask the price!!

14. There is very limited power available in the paddock area. Generators might be a good choice for those having them.

15. The track has requested we use paddocks B and C - over by the restaurant. Please do not set up in the usual area (Paddock D)

Bring your winter clothing!

Hopefully all quetions answered. Let me know if there are more.

More notes will be posted as information becomes available!

For showers? If you can find a shower you dare use.
For cooking? doubt it, BYO (PERHAPS) the snack bar will have something, but doubt I can find out before we leave. I will give it a try if that is what you are looking for.

You mention garages in one of the items above. Are there garages to rent/use while we are up there? Or is it more like Mont Tremblant where you'll get a small strip of dirt and like it?

Garages referred to are for the track personnel and equipment. The paddocks are paved.

For the folks that are spending the night, I would like to leave my car near someone that is there. We will have two cars and would prefer to leave the beast there rather than break it down for street. Staying in Ajax, on hotel points.

You should have no problem leaving your car anywhere in the paddock overnight. You won't need a guard dog.

Not sure at this point about the caravan. I am riding up with Richard Murphy, I know Mark S is driving up and Bob Brooks has also asked me about the trip. Mark, Richard and Bob will be at the BOD meeting tonight and I hope to post plans here tonight or in the morning.
