"Car numbers and class must be placed on both sides of the car before Tech Inspection. All markings must be easily
readable by corner workers. Numbers must have a minimum height of eight (8) inches. Class designations must
have a minimum height of 4 inches. Numbers and class designation shall be on a vertical side panels or vertical side
windows and shall be of contrasting color to the car."

Why do you have to be contrary? As a COM Instructor you should set a good example for your Student - rules should be followed.

I like a guy who pays attention And I do have lots of windshield washer fluid (we call it "Boost Juice").

BTW, just to clarify further why I brought up this whole class designation issue...I think it probably didn't occur to whoever made the original rule that some instructors would opt to do instruction, only, and would not run time trials. Time trial days are the only time class designations matter. On school days, the student groups are determined by experience level - not car class, and , of course, each car is uniquely identified by its number. Based on the above reasoning, I could also make the argument that class designations should be required only time trial day - and not required for anyone on school day (instructors or students). But no biggie...I'm much more concerned with the credit card mentioned in a previous post

Some of the classifications have safety corollaries. That's why they matter outside of competition.
