Seems like a lot more grunt than anything on the track. The skill set is not too shabby either. Reminded me of Bruce going by me

That's a Stohr F1000.They are bike powered, usually Suzuki 1000's. Very fast and light..775lbs. Makes my Atom seem downright..porky! He was out with quite an assortment of different cars! I'd love to run at Infineon some day..

Re: Is this what Bruce feels like?
That is definitely what it feels like. He is racing in the SCCA race group I run with- FC, FE, FB, FM, FE. His Stohr FB is a good bit faster with more downforce (and more expensive and more fragile) than mine. A motorcycle engine screaming at 12,000 rpm sure sounds a lot more like F1 than my Mazda 2.3L with shift point at 6,300 and rev limiter at 7k. Note how rough and brutal it is on drive even on a perfectly paved course. I wonder why he qualfiied so poorly. He went through the whole pack.

Maybe he didn't want to waste the fuel qualifying and just checked in at the pack of the pack for the race....knowing he'd stomp everyone.
It does look brutal...especially when the car jumps curbs..

Hey Bruce (slightly off topic) - it looks like your preferred line through T4 is to compromise the exit to get a better setup/entry for T5. Do you think this is faster than tracking all the way out of T4 and then compromising the entry to T5 (the slower of the two corners)? After watching video, I've also found that tracking all the way out of the octopus head is faster than taking a straighter exit to line up for the esses (as seen in my video). I ended up shooting myself in this race by looping it between T1 and T2.

Re: Is this what Bruce feels like?
If you mean that I do not track out all the way on 4, that is my bad. I often brake too much entering 4 and find that I could have carried more speed. As a consequence I am able to turn to right side for turn 5 setup earlier than necessary. Wastes time. High speed is better.CP wrote:Hey Bruce (slightly off topic) - it looks like your preferred line through T4 is to compromise the exit to get a better setup/entry for T5. The important thing to me in the carousel is not to coast around as I see some doing. Formula cars have a lot of cornering power and it is important to use all of it all the time-- and not spin due to hard braking while turning at the end. You showed that by getting back on the gas after initial turn-in an passing that guy early on the inside. Also, you are braking for Turn 1 at the four mark-- should be able to go deeper. Guy is catching you. And don't lift for three. I don't - at much higher speeds (and grip).

Noted, thanks Bruce. My car understeers like crazy at that track so I'm going to go stiffer on one side of the rear swaybar in August.
