Post by eastcoastbumps » Tue Apr 13, 2010 11:04 pm

Who's going? Paddy and I will be there shaking down the S2000 (as long as we get everything done tomorrow).

I'm going like a madman trying to make it. I have a lot to do though. If I do make it up it will be for the afternoon session.

Shit, I just realized that my COM license is expired. Are they gonna give me static?
I busted my ass to get the car ready. I'd hate to drive up there and get turned away for something so stupid.

Ok, I'm sure it'll be fine, but if you get up there in the morning and they don't let you on track can you shoot me a txt and let me know?

No issues, they barely looked at it. I should have known.

Mick..was it my imagination,or did the run out section of turn six get repaved and the rumble strips removed? The few laps I got in,I was on that area and surprised to not hit the rumbles as usual. I was trying to turn in later..maybe I have never hit that nice smooth patch of asphalt before...

Yeah. New pavement on the outside of the bowl and track out of 6. The downside is that they flattened it out where the rumbles used to be. So it feels like there is less track to work with.

Paddy and I had an awesome day. We were there early. We rolled our fenders, bled the coolant and I went out in the first run group. Everything went well but the sub-strap on the seat belts were a little tight. Paddy loosened them up a bit while I changed the oil. Then I went out and did a session, then Paddy did one, then I did one, then I thought I heard a clunk, but it must have been some marbles so I went back out again, then I talked to Lou while Paddy did one, then I did one while Paddy talked to Mick, then I talked to Mick while Paddy did one, then Richard Murphy showed up and I did a session with him, then Paddy did one, then I did one, then we talked with Mark Epstine about the car, then I did another and after that Paddy did two more and then they closed the track. :( But I hear it will be open again some time soon. :D More than 166 easy 'break in' miles without much of a fuss.

BTW, the weather was great too.

Went well. I focused on getting the wiring done to the point where the car would run. Only one very minor issue when I got there which was easily fixed.
All that's left to do is some light wiring on accessories, clean up and paint. but as the car sits now it's ready to go.

That repave must have occurred early this week, as it was the same old T6 last weekend during the SCCA National races while we were there.

It looked very fresh, there was lot of gravel (aggregate) kicking around
