Watched this film last night and I have to say it is on my favorites list. Horatios Drive.Excellent narrative documentary that covers the first car and auto enthusiasts (Dr.Horatio and company)to cross the USA in 1903. It took 65 days.He did it in a Winton 2cyl auto.800 gallons of fuel. Many repairs by blacksmiths along the way.Two other teams set out to beat him,one team in a Packard, and one in an Oldsmobile runabout. Very interesting movie narrated by Tom Hanks with lots of actual photo footage taken of the voyage. It all started on a $50 bet. If you like to read/watch about the history of early cars in the USA,this will entertain. If nothing else,it will make one appreciate the state of cars and roads today.

Had a great conversation with the author, Garth Stein at Daytona last winter (and had him sign my copy).
Was interrupted when Patrick Dempsey came by...outcome will be a movie I understand

I saw "Horatio's Drive" Good stuff. Puts packing for a track event into perspective
Author Garth Stein discusses "The Art of Racing in the Rain":
I read in Road & Track that Dempsey has secured the movie rights. Could be good if he gets the movie made!
